I was driving through a sudden shower, on my way over the causeway to a birthday dinner celebration for my friend Cheryl, when I happened to glance to my left and saw this rainbow hanging out near Fort Myers Beach. I pulled over at the first opportunity. If you look closely, you can see that it’s actually a double, which had started to fade by time I found a place to stop. This is one of the BEST things about living in Southwest Florida. The skies are so big and dramatic, with towering clouds and beautiful rainbows

You want me to be happy, don’t you?
DON’T YOU?

What an absolutly gorgeous picture. As far as your pot of gold you could have taken a quick swim to check it out, but that would have just given you an intense workout. I think the pot of gold is realizing that your lucky enough to be alive to see such a wonder

Welcome Erica, and amen! I’m a cancer survivor, so I’m definitely in that “lucky to be alive” category. Thanks for reminding me what my pot of gold is REALLY made of

You are very blessed to have spotted a double rainbow. I saw it only once in my whole lifetime. I was out fishing with my husband and we were like in the middle of the double arched rainbow. That was a long, long time ago when we saw that event. Nice job on your Outdoor Wednesday post.

Fantastic capture! I just love rainbows, but I never seem to have a camera when I see one.

Great capture! I guess it’s about being in the right place at the right time, and then being able to make the camera get it. I once caught a rainbow over some buildings while walking home, but it really didn’t show up in the photo

I think you do have the most amazing puffy clouds. The rainbow is a bonus. The pot of gold would be life altering and since I like you just the way you are I’m glad you didn’t find it.

Hello Tink,
What a great shot! We seem to get a lot of doubles here in Florida. I never quite seem to get a clear shot of one though.

I got a double a few weeks ago from my backyard, I’ll be using it this Friday. I do admit your beautiful water looks much better than my power lines. Beautiful shot!
