I can’t believe I lived in New York most of my life and didn’t know this!
Two Ladies in the Harbor, September 2006
“Sha la la la la la la la….” yep, apparently she’s a Jersey Girl!”

You want me to be happy, don’t you?
DON’T YOU?

That is beautiful photo, and I’m guessing you have to be from New York to get what a Jersey girl is. Is that being from the right side or the wrong side?

LOL, NY and NJ are actually pretty friendly with one another. “Jersey Girl” is sort of a shout-out to Bruce Springsteen fans.
here, try this – should explain things.

Of course, as a born and raised Jersey girl, (who coincidentally was at the show that youtube audio was recorded at…) I knew this little fact, but I can understand why NY likes to keep it on the down-low.
Nice photo!

I’m kinda lost what all this means, but the photo captures beautiful light effects over the water!

@Annie somehow I knew this would smoke you out for a comment :p I was standing in NY when I took the photo. There’s a Ritz Carlton downtown in the vicinity of Water Street and Whitehall Street. On the 14th floor there is a bar with a terrace overlooking the Hudson River. You can see the currently infamous Goldman Sachs building, Ellis Island, Colgate and a number of other New Jersey landmarks from there. Oh and the Staten Island Ferry
@Gemma Lady #1 is the moon, La Luna Bella, upper right. Lady #2 is the Statue of Liberty, in the lower left holding her torch aloft. She is normally touted as a New York tourist attraction, but looking at Google Maps, we see that she actually sits on an island on the New Jersey side of the river. Thus, she is a Jersey Girl.

I’m not sure what you mean either but that sky and those colors are gorgeous!

We stayed at that same Ritz you mentioned when we were last in New York and we went to that bar on our last night there! Great photo-I tried to take one from the bar but it didn’t work out very well.
Thanks for all the explanations-makes much more sense to me now.
Best wishes,
Natasha.

Interesting fact and lovely photo. The moon is so pretty and The Ladies torch shines so brightly. Hugs, Cindy S

How about that! I didn’t know that little bit of trivia. Gotta watch those dividing lines

Thank you so much everyone, for your lovely reactions. Natasha, I hope you get to go back one day. I happened to be in the right place at the right time for this shot. My only wish is that I’d had a better lens, but shoulda-coulda-woulda, you know? Anyway, glad you all enjoyed it.
